Lose Weight with Chromium Supplements

April 28th, 2008 by rosalindeottco

By Michael Bens Part of the new generation of diet pills a great, great improvement over the older style of diet pill, that was essentially a barbiturate includes naturally occurring substances, such as vitamin, mineral or herbal supplements. In general, people feel safer with these natural substances than they ever would with pharmaceutical drugs, though this confidence is sometimes misplaced. There are some natural substances that are not the best thing for your body. Some of them react with pharmaceuticals, too. In general, though, natural substances are a great idea they are probably one of the most promising directions that medicine is taking in this day and age. Chromium is a natural supplement that is very helpful in weight loss. If you are trying to lose weight and would like a head start, so to speak, or if you are in the process of losing weight and have hit a plateau, a period of time when you cant seem to lose any more, consider asking your doctor or naturopath about this supplement. Unlike most diet pills (herbal or otherwise) chromium does not function by suppressing appetite. Instead, what it does is far more constructive it improves your insulin efficiency. What does insulin efficiency have to do with losing weight? Quite a lot, as it happens, though it depends on where you carry your weight. Take a quick look in the mirror. If much of your extra weight is around your middle, you could probably benefit from improving your insulin efficiency. Insulin is a hormone that is produced by the pancreas, and it is used to digest sugars and carbohydrates (which are, essentially, the same as sugars). If you eat a lot of sugar or refined carbohydrates, there is a chance that your supply of insulin will be unable to deal with the sudden rush of sugar in your blood. The chances are even greater if you are over forty. Over time, if you overuse your insulin, so to speak, by eating a lot of sugar, as you get older, you may not have enough of it or your insulin response might get weakened. When this becomes critical, we call it diabetes and there is no known cure. Consider the following: During World War 2, there was a village in France whose supply of fresh drinking water was all but cut off. Supplies of wine were plentiful, however, and thats what people drank instead. You might expect that this would turn the whole lot of them into alcoholics it didnt, though. The French are pretty stable and balanced in their approach to alcohol. What did happen, though, was this: at the end of four years, about 75% of the village was diabetic! This is because of the high sugar content in wine. Its something to consider for todays youth, many of whom subsist on soft drinks, which are considerably higher in sugar than wine is. Is it only a matter of time before we have a whole generation of diabetics? This is a serious proposition, since there is no cure for diabetes. The condition often has to be controlled with insulin injections, and thats not a way in which any of us would choose to live. If you are having trouble with your insulin response but have not been diagnosed with diabetes, the only manifestation of your condition might be an increase in fat around your belly. This should be considered an early warning sign of a serious health problem, besides being unsightly! It means that you are eating too much sugar and refined starch for your bodys insulin to process. The excess sugar is turned to fat and stored around your middle. Over time, if you dont do anything to correct the situation, you may well end up with diabetes. You might also contract heart disease, because both diabetes and weight around the middle are warning signs for eventual heart disease. Chromium supplements are not a magic bullet you still have to curb your sugar and carbohydrate intake. However, to help you along, studies have shown that chromium can be effective. Chromium supplements improve the efficiency with which your bodys insulin response occurs, and this can be a huge boon in terms of weight loss, avoidance of diabetes, and better heart health. How to Clone with Success

April 26th, 2008 by rosalindeottco

By Jason Willkomm Every step here has a reason…either to reduce the stress on the new clone or to encourage root growth. Every drop of water you use will be plain water with 10 ml/gallon Thrive Alive B1 added. You will need to start with a sterile medium. If you use rockwool, you need to soak it for at least 24 hours (plain water and B1) before you use it, otherwise the ph is too alkaline. Clones should be 4 to 6 inches long. You will have much better success taking your clones from a plant growing in the vegatative stage. Prepare your clones before you actually take them. At the top of each clone there should be a circle of leafy vegatation no larger than the bottom of a pop can. Trim any excess. Trim away any other vegetation along the stem. To make the cleanest, least damaging cut on the plant, you want to use a sharp razor. Do not use scissors, they will do damage. Wash your hands with soap and water. Pour a little alcohol onto the razor, than rinse it with a little tap water. Fill an empty container with water and B1 mix. I find 1/2 gallon milk jugs to be very convenient for this. Open your cloning gel. Hold the branch firm just above the point of your cut. At a 45 degree angle, cut and dip the clone immediately in the gel. Swish it around for a second or two, and place it in the full milk jug. Each milk jug will fit 3 to 4 clones. Keep the clones under a single fluorescent light, 4 to 6 inches beneath the bulbs. Mist the clones two or three times a day. Do not keep a fan on them, they prefer still, humid air at this point. The very most important thing is to keep them at 72 degrees. Keep them in the jug soaking for no less than 48 hours, and no more than 4 days. After two days, put each clone into its own rockwool plug or its own container of sterile soilless mix. If using rockwool plugs, keep the end of the clone in the center of the plug, a 1/2 inch up from the bottom of the plug. I use a piece of tape around the center of the plug to keep it closed nicely around the clone. Place the clones back under the fluorescent light, and continue to mist them 2 to 3 times a day. The first few days, keep them on the wet side. I usually give each one a little squirt with a turkey baster of water and B1 mix. After that, you can start letting them dry out just a little between waterings. Be sure to keep the nice 72 degree temperature. In 7 to 10 days, you should see roots coming out the sides of your rockwool plugs. Transplant clones into 6 inch containers and begin feeding (mildly) as soon as roots appear. If you follow all these steps, you should have pretty near a 100% success rate….happy cloning! Tips for Planning a Small Wedding

April 25th, 2008 by rosalindeottco

By Diane Crawford Planning a small wedding can be somewhat different from planning a larger one, but a nice result of planning a small wedding is lesser costs and confusions on that special day. Before planning a small wedding though, you’ll need to define specifically what you mean by “small”. For some people, a small wedding is just ten or fifteen of their closest friends and family. For others however, a small wedding includes at least 50 people. For the sake of this article, we’ll consider planning a small wedding to mean planning a wedding which will have 20 people or less. This makes things much easier to plan and pull off without a hitch, plus it can really help you keep your wedding budget low too! Small Wedding Food Tips: When planning a small wedding of just 20 guests, you don’t usually have to worry about having a catered meal. Family members can get together and create a home cooked meal for your wedding reception instead, or you can make arrangements to have the meal at a local favorite restaurant. If you’d rather have the meal catered anyway, you can still do so of course. Simply find a caterer who specalizes in smaller events, and work with them to plan the details for your own small wedding reception. Small Wedding Ceremony Tips: When planning a small wedding, you have many options for creative ceremonies. You can for instance, simply make arrangements to have your wedding ceremony in a small local chapel you’ve always adored, or get a permit from your county or city to use a pretty gazebo in your local park. In fact, when planning a small wedding you can actually choose to have the ceremony at your home, a friend’s home, or maybe the family home you grew up in. Since there won’t be too many people in attendance, it’s easy to fit the wedding ceremony in a variety of places that aren’t practical for larger ceremonies. Some people prefer to have their small weddings in unusual places too. A couple of four wheel drive enthusiasts for example, might plan a small wedding which involves driving to the top of a mountain and having the ceremony overlooking a beautiful lake or canyon. Small Wedding Reception Tips: Planning a small wedding makes the reception planning much easier and less expensive too. You could for example, simply plan to have your wedding reception at a friend or family member’s home. You could have the wedding reception at a local park, or you could simply have everyone gather together at a favorite club for the reception too. Keep in mind though: Just because you’re planning a small wedding does not mean you have to go super low budget. Small weddings can be “done up” in the very same way larger weddings can. Planning a small wedding can still involve having gift registries, elegant invitations and thank you notes, formal ceremonies and celebrations, and all the trimmings of food, wine and spirits too. So if you’re planning a small wedding yourself, first think about how small that wedding will be. Then decide whether you want the wedding to be unique, creative, or traditional. From that point it’s just a matter of setting your budget, then planning your small wedding! Understanding Celtic Wedding Rings

April 19th, 2008 by rosalindeottco

By Marc Choyt Thousands of years ago, the Celts, a group of independent tribes spread throughout much of current day Europe, were sophisticated artisans, carving knot work patterns that have inspired modern day jewelers to create wedding rings. These motifs have meaning. Yet understanding the knot patterns and why they make such ideal wedding rings can be illusive. The ancient motifs are rooted in mysterious cultures that stretch back well before written history. Though the earliest written accounts of the Celts were from Roman descriptions, some knot work motifs found in Eastern Europe may be as old as 20,000 years. We know the Celts, similar to Native people of North America, viewed that the earth itself as well as all aspects of life and death as divine. They had a large and varied pantheon, worshipping local gods. The natural world was considered sacred, and every river, mountain and tree had its own spirit of place. Rituals were rooted in a particular oak grove or waterfall. Early Celtic leaders even mocked human-like images of Olympian gods or the wild animals of their vale and forests. Knot work, which has become synonymous with todays idea of Celtic was undoubtedly a form of sacred, artistic expression. Some of the most famous designs were preserved in highly embellished, illuminated manuscripts, such as the Book of Kells which somehow survived the Viking invasions. It was created in the 9th century at a monastery off the Scottish coast, and depicts wonderfully imaginative images of humans and animals embellished with knot work motifs, linking medieval Christianity with ancient Druidic culture. In Western culture, there is a long and venerable tradition of artists that have been inspired by knot work motifs. Celtic design was particularly popular in the Renaissance. Leonardo da Vinci, Michelangelo, and Raphael studied and depicted knots in their work. In modern times, some of Picassos early art is highly influenced by knot work. And there has always been a group of metal and visual artists that have kept the Celtic fires burning by using the knot work patterns in jewelry and other forms of artistic expression. For some people, the choice to have a Celtic wedding ring is an expression of their wish to connect deeply into their own ancestry. They feel empathy with a European based tribal tradition that treats the earth as Mother. Its also easy to fall in love with soulful Celtic music and poetry. Others simply want the one piece of jewelry that they wear every day to have a beautiful design with significance. Whether one has Celtic heritage or not, a Celtic motif wedding ring is appropriate because it has universal, symbolic meaning. In the most general sense, the knots express two different paths woven together. Life itself can be viewed as a great web of interconnectedness which is expressed in the knot work. Even our own spiritual path, metaphorically, can be viewed as a tapestry of interconnected experiences. The Celtic wedding ring is a talisman which reminds us, in physical form, of our mystic connection with another person and the great web of life. This weave of particular experiences makes us unique, which is why we are attracted to some knot work patterns on wedding rings more than others. What appeals to you and your fianc may well bring insight to the nature of your relationship. Some couples are attracted to knot work motifs that are simple and flowing, which perhaps illustrates a partnership based on harmony and ease. Other knot work designs on wedding rings are more dynamic and complicated, suggesting creative elements, or passionate peaks and valleys. Many Celtic merchants will label a particular design as Friendship or Unity but often theres not any real basis for these labels. These facile tags short change the person interested in the ring by giving a concept instead of assisting them to understand the deeper meaning behind the design. Its also easy enough to say that the ring is about how all things are interconnected, but this is so general that it doesnt help explain why we may be attracted to the sacred geometry of one ring over another. To do this, you can contemplate the various components that make up the knot work and try to determine how they are functioning. For example, consider the circle. We speak of a circle of friends and live in circular cycles, such as the day and the season. Native cultures throughout the world hold ceremonies in protective circles. A knot work pattern with circles or variations of circles certainly has some important keys to relationships and community. In the broadest sense, the ring itself is a circle, and putting it on has also always been symbolic of sealing a commitment. A square knot motif concerns structure, which is why buildings use the shape of a square foundation. Squares certainly have an element of stability. Numbers were a significant part Celtic lore, and the number five represented the four directions and the center point. Many Celtic rings also deal with vectors that travel in a certain direction. If you look at the shape of an arrow, its easy to understand why a triangle might connote movement. Another common Celtic motif is the knot work depicting a trinity. Many Celtic deities had three forms. The Mother Goddess was understood to the maiden, mother and crone. The universe was viewed as heaven, earth and otherworld. We are born, we live and we die. Certainly the trinity knot also illustrates the One being dividing off into the masculine and feminine, or the mother and son– a mystical truth contemplated in many sacred traditions. While the above guide for understanding knot work is not necessarily based on any scholarly or anthropological text on the meaning of knots, it does provide a starting point that is based on a universal perspective. Every Celtic ring is going to have some variation of these shapes. Spending some time contemplating the motif may yield some insight. Though modern jewelry techniques allow a greater range of possibilities than the Celts had during the time of the Romans, finding an exceptional Celtic wedding ring at a local jewelry store may not be possible. The best place to search is on the internet, which has the widest selection. Today you can find rings made with platinum, or white and yellow gold accented with diamonds. Some of the most beautiful rings are bi-metal, where the knots are one color, such as white gold, while the rim of the ring might be yellow gold. There is a wide range of class and price. Your wedding ring is a once in a life time purchase that you will live with every day. It must be aesthetically beautiful. The knot work on the rings should be well executed. It should have some meaning that makes sense for you which should be explained on the website. The best jewelry designers offer engagement ring sets, along with the option of having a wider band for the gent and a narrower of the same knot work motif for the lady. Youll want it comfort fit, which means that the band tapers slightly toward the center, making it easy to wear. Since it is very likely within the course of a marriage that youll gain or loose twenty pounds, it is most advantageous to choose a ring with a sizing band. The company you choose should have a record of creditability backed up by customer service, guaranteeing their product. Give them a call and see if they are worthy of doing business with. A track record of timely delivery is also essential. Its not uncommon for a ring from outside the US to be held up by Customs, for example. Finally, the most important thing is to trust your feelings. The rings should be unique and resonate with your own profound, sacred connection and commitment to your beloved. Americans Going Into Credit Card Debt To Pay Medical Bills

April 16th, 2008 by rosalindeottco

By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Joshua_Daly] Joshua Daly A new report finds that Americans are turning to credit cards in order to pay for their high medical bills whether or not they have healthcare or health insurance. The study shows that people dig themselves into a deeper financial hole when they turn to high interest credit cards to solve their healthcare problems. The report called Borrowing to Stay Healthy: How Credit Card Debt Is Related to Medical Expenses was released Tuesday by two non-profit organizations, the Access Project and Demos. Mark Rukavina, co-author of the report and executive director of The Access Project states, “The problem of medical debt is widespread, nearly 60 million adults in the U.S. are at risk of incurring medical bills they will not be able to afford. Many people are just an illness away from becoming medical debtors, and medical debt can have a detrimental effect on health-care access.” According to HealthDay News to report also found: Households with medical debt had higher levels of credit-card debt than households without medical debt — on average, 46 percent higher or $11,623, compared to $7,964. The distribution of debt was higher among medically indebted households: 44 percent had credit-card debt in excess of $10,000, while only 26 percent of non-medically indebted households had credit-card debt above $10,000. Among those with medical debts, young adults aged 18 to 34 had the highest level of average credit-card debt of any age group — $13,303 compared to $7,450 for non-medically indebted young adults. Households that were medically indebted were more likely to be called by bill collectors than non-medically indebted households, 62 percent vs. 38 percent. Credit-card debt was high for both insured and uninsured medically indebted households — $10,973 and $14,512, respectively. “This indicates that even those who do have health insurance aren’t always protected,” said Cindy Zeldin, a report co-author and federal affairs coordinator with Demos’ Economic Opportunity Program. Recorded Statement vs Written Declaration

April 14th, 2008 by rosalindeottco

By Jay Rosenzweig The recorded statement is not an easy replacement of the signed written declaration. It has its own techniques and advantages and disadvantages. The following is a list of some of the advantages and disadvantages of a recorded statement as compared to a written statement: Advantages of a Recorded Statement a. The statement is given in the subject’s own words and his or her particular accent and phrase usage. b. The recording will indicate a subject’s emphasis and inflections and will give an idea as to whether he or she is forceful and positive or weak and vacillating. c. Is probably the preferred method of obtaining a statement from an illiterate person. d. Usually easier to read than a hand written declaration. e. Generally takes less time to complete than a written statement. Disadvantages of a Recorded Statement: a. The statement is not signed by the subject at the time of interview (Unless the transcription is sent to the subject at a later date for signature). b. Subject may “freeze” knowing the conversation is being recorded. c. Faulty handling of the recorded interview can result in the statement being useless as evidence. d. It is essential that the recording be clear and audible. Background noise not noticed at the time may prove to effectively “wipe out” much of the recorded interview by covering the voices, making it difficult or impossible to hear and understand the questions and answers. e. Impressions of witnesses are more accurate in person rather the over the telephone (if it’s not a personal interview). Most statements are used in court for impeachment purposes only. However, in some cases, if you show up in court with a pile of witness statements in your favor, most likely the judge will take that into consideration when rendering a decision. Remember, even if the witness does not want to cooperate and provide a statement (but will provide an interview), you can still use your notes for impeachment purposes. I suggest that you do not conduct investigation on your own behalf, but to hire a professional. Courts give more credibility to a 3rd party (or someone impartial) rather that someone related to the case. Jay Rosenzweig is the owner of California Investigation Services and J R Investigations. Bridal Hair and Makeup

April 11th, 2008 by rosalindeottco

By Asuncion Parra Llorente Bridal Hair and Makeup A wedding day is most likely to be one of the most treasured days in a brides life. With brides such as Cinderella and Snow White as role models, it is of no surprise that expectations are at their highest. Therefore, brides expect to look and feel their best. It is what a bride deserves. That is where a makeup artist can enter with the wand and add to the dazzle and elegance of the wedding day. Bridal hair and makeup should be simple, yet elegant. It is important t remember that the hair and makeup should not compete with the brides dress; rather the hair and makeup should complement the dress. Equally important, is knowing the expectations of the bride. The makeup artist should note that the bride will want to feel comfortable, not confined by her bridal hair and makeup. Being comfortable may also mean keeping the makeup simple, not vibrant. This may not be the day to experiment with a new style. The bride does not want to feel self-conscious of her new look. She will want everyone to notice her beauty today and for years that follow in photographs. Todays bridal makeup and hair is soft and subtle. The effect is sexier, less harsh. Hair can be worn down, flowing with loose curls and waves. The updo that once dominated the bridal hair scene has a much softer look as well. Todays updo style is not sprayed, pinned, and tucked to hide every loose hair. The look is pinned and tousled, leaving it soft and stylish. The bridal hair is romantic. Bridal makeup trends are soft and romantic to complement the hair and latest trends in bridal gowns and bridal hair. No longer do the lips have to be lined heavily and matte foundation with loose powder applied. While this is traditional, todays bridal makeup is more radiant and natural. Todays brides want to glow with elegance. There are some bridal hair and makeup rules and tips that the makeup artist can follow to ensure the wedding day will be a beautiful success. Rules for Makeup and Hair 1. Have a portfolio or picture selection available for brides-to-be to view along with the bridal makeup used. Often, it is difficult for a bride to express into words the look she is going for. Photographs can help you communicate. 2. Set up consultation. This should be done a few weeks ahead of time. During the consultation, note the time of day the wedding will take place, flowers, dress style and color, hair color, bridal hair style, eye color, time of year, and personality. If possible, communicate with the stylist to discuss the hair style. 3. It may also be a good idea to ask to see some of the makeup products that the bride is already using. This will give you a good insight as to what the bride is accustomed to wearing. 4. Discuss different bridal hair and makeup trends. Allow the bride to get a visual by seeing the photos. Then follow by setting up a second appointment. 5. It is at the second meeting that you can unveil your plans for makeup. Demonstrate your selection for the bride-to-be. Demonstrate more than one bridal makeup style and photograph the results. Samples of bridal color schemes: Select a simple bridal makeup color scheme. The eyes, cheeks, and lips will all be in the same family; cool or warm. If the bride is wearing white and has dark hair, introduce colors in the pink/rose family. Keep the plan simple. Mauve/rose shadow, rose blush, rose lips. Select a different scheme that complements the flower choice. If the bride is carrying a peach colored bouquet, try using copper or bronze shadow. Use a combination of pink and peach on the cheeks and a lipstick in a peach tone. Bridal eye makeup should be soft. Choose a brown or chestnut eye liner. The line should be subtle and blended well.Follow using water proof mascara, keeping in mind tears and smearing. When choosing bridal foundation makeup, think of longevity and photography. The makeup will need to last, even under the photographers lights, without being too heavy. Todays market has several photo finish foundations. Try a light bronzing powder to add warmth and softness. Another trend in formal weddings is strong, yet sultry bridal makeup. A formal wedding can be complemented using a matte foundation, black liner for the eyes done in a subtle way, pink rouge, and matte red lipstick. Liner must be used to contain the red lipstick and prevent it from bleeding. This is a dramatic, evening bridal look that is perfect for such a formal affair. Todays bride wants to show her beauty in a natural, sensual way. The makeup artist can provide the bride with confidence and easy elegance that will be reminisced often. Be Aglow at Your Wedding: Start Caring for Your Skin Ahead of Time

April 10th, 2008 by rosalindeottco

By Joy Cagil Brides come in all ages and planning a wedding can be exceedingly stressful on anybody, no matter what the age. If you, as the bride, have handled everything perfectly, those few days before the wedding could still take their toll on your health and especially on your skin. On her wedding day, every bride wants to have her skin radiant and free from lines and pimples, so she looks her best, and her photos and videos come out looking perfect. No bride wants to even imagine the possibility that, one day, her offspring might gaze at their parents’ wedding photos and remark on the blemish over their mother’s right nostril. Telling a bride-to-be to avoid stress and to take things lightly is easier said than done; nevertheless, taking care of the skin, despite the stress and a busy schedule, is not only possible but it is a must. * Start at least a month or two before the wedding date to personally care for your skin every day. If you are the outdoors type or your skin has been neglected for years, then begin much earlier, even before you hire the wedding planner or the photographer. * If you suffer from acne, rosacea, or any other skin condition, make sure to see a dermatologist months before the wedding. There are wonderful medicated creams on the market available with prescription that can prevent acne or rosacea outbursts on your wedding day. *Sun protection should have been your habit all along; however, if you have neglected that, it is never too late to start. If you have to be out under the sun, use wide brimmed hats, sunglasses, umbrellas, and especially sunscreen lotion. Even the smallest dose of UVA rays can take their toll on the human skin. The best use you can get from a sunscreen lotion is if you choose one with an SPF of 15-30 and apply it every few hours. After you apply the lotion, stay indoors or in the shade for a few minutes to let the skin absorb the lotion. * Before you put the sunscreen on, fortify your skin with a vitamin C lotion. With some women, vitamin C softens the skin lines and helps the sunscreen protect the skin better. *Exfoliate you skin often if your skin is rough. If your skin is very tender, keep the exfoliating to once a month. To exfoliate, first cleanse your skin with a facial cleanser, or if you like, lukewarm distilled water. Then, apply an exfoliating gel or cream and rub into the skin with small circular motions. Rinse with warm water and pat dry with a warm towel. Never use products or devices like washcloths, loofahs, or puff buffs on your face. They are known to gather bacteria easily. * Hydration of the skin is easy and can be done with the most common materials. Add a few drops of oil to a bowl of steaming hot water. Johnson’s baby oil will do just fine, unless you want to use one your favorite oils or herbal solutions. Lean over the bowl until your face is about 8-12 inches away. Cover your head with a towel to capture the steam and relax for 15 minutes. Do this every day if you can. * If at all possible, about three months before the wedding date, see a dermatologist or add an over the counter retinoid (Vitamin A Cream) to your daily skin care, if you are not already using one. Do not go under the sun immediately after applying a retinoid; wait at least fifteen minutes to half an hour. The most feasible skin care method for busy working women is a retinoid to be applied at night. If you are susceptible to dark circles under the eyes, an undereye lotion with alpha-hydroxy acids could be added to your daily care. * If your skin is excessively dry, adding aloe Vera lotion or gel-mask to your daily regimen will help greatly. * Avoid aggressive and experimental treatments, tanning, and facial waxing, one to two weeks before the wedding. * Try to eat a well-balanced diet with extra fruits, vegetables, and leafy greens. They will help your skin and your figure at the same diet. Give your skin a chance, and have your family and friends watch its glow match the glow in your eyes on your wedding day. How to Spice Up Your Sex Life and Save Your Relationship

April 7th, 2008 by rosalindeottco

By Jennifer L. Hunt The Question: My partner and I have been together for 2 years now and we have been living together for about 4 months. Now that we are living together I feel that our relationship has changed. We hardly ever have sex, probably once a month is about all we manage to achieve. I love sex and I’m sure that my partner does too, but for some reason we just can’t seem to make an effort to do the wild thing - one of us or both are always tired and sometimes it feels like we’re losing sexual compatibility; now it seems like I’ve had more passion in the past with other men or in the beginning of our relationship. We do love each other and we’ve been through a lot together but I feel that our relationship is changing and I don’t know what to do about it. We are becoming more like best friends everyday and I’m scared that the passion is fading. His idea of seduction and mine are totally different - he thinks ‘Let’s have sex?’ is an acceptable phrase into seducing a woman into hot sex, where as I would rather be pinned up against a wall without a word being said and so on… When we weren’t living together our relationship was great; we did struggle a bit in the sex department but 3 times a week compared to once a month was a vast improvement. Any advice you have considering this situation would be greatly appreciated. I don’t think I want to lose my relationship but I don’t know if I have the will power to save it - I don’t know what to do. The Answer: You might be surprised to learn that almost all long term relationships go through this ‘phase’ where everyone seems to get a little lazy. From my experience, it seems to happen somewhere between 18 months and 3 years into the relationship. Here are some ideas that will help you make the best decision for you. Does he know how you feel? Open and honest communication is the most important component of any relationship. Talk about it! Yes, with him, not with your girlfriends, not with anyone else. It’s absolutely amazing how many lovers simply don’t communicate openly and honestly with one another. So many guys chat about their love live with their buddies, often as a way of bragging and showing off. And then they ask their guy friends if this or that sex idea would be ok. This is a bad idea for guys and girls. If you’re trying to figure out what sexual experiences to try out, talk with your lover not your buddies. So, does he know that you crave hot spontaneous sex, or that you get excited by playing a little rough? Guess what, he might like that too! Or he might not, but you’ll never know if you don’t explore this topic together. And by the way, you’ll have a lot of fun and get a lot closer in the process. Don’t hurt anyone’s feelings and check your ego at the door It’s a strange thing, but sex partners often get their feelings hurt when one of them suggests trying something new, or doing something a little differently. Get over it! The point of sex and intimacy is to enjoy each other and be happy together! Unless of course you’re focused solely on making babies - but that’s not the topic of this article… Getting comfortable and killing your relationship Complacency, also known as “getting comfortable” is the death knell of so many relationships, it may as well be a full blown epidemic. So many couples strive to “get comfortable”. What that means is they stop trying. And guess what… you stop trying, and your relationship dies. It’s that simple. The excitement and attraction dies, and your relationships becomes a project that you’re always fixing up. That’s no fun. So how can you add that spice and excitement back into your relationship so that you’re not just lusting after those hot bodies at the gym? Seduction as a game for lovers - the chase begins anew The thrill of seduction doesn’t end when you get into a relationship. Why give up such a wonderful thing, even if you could? Admit it, we enjoy the chase. I know I do and I’m at peace with it. And if you’re not chasing your lover, you’ll end up chasing someone else. We’re just wired that way. So let’s just accept that fact and use it to our advantage. When was the last time you tried to seduce your partner? No, I’m not talking about coming home and saying “hey, let’s go have sex”. Blah! Boring! I mean dressing up to look your best, wearing something sexy and feeling sexy. Some of the best and most exciting sex is spontaneous sex, when you’re so wrapped up in the heat of the moment that you just can’t stop from ripping each other’s clothes off! Now that’s excitement. And doesn’t it sound more fun than “hey, let’s go have sex”? Schedule hot sex dates You go through the trouble of scheduling lunch and dinner appointments with just about everyone in your life. How about paying at least that much attention to your lover? Make time for that really steamy hot date, and plan accordingly. That way you’ll both be anticipating it all day, or all week. Make a sex date box Here’s a neat idea. Get together with your lover and each of you jot down a steamy date idea on a piece of paper and agree that each time you go on a hot steamy date, you’ll pick a card from your special sex date box. Watch some erotic movies - together Basic Instinct, Wild Orchid, 9 and 1/2 Weeks - it doesn’t have to be Playboy Porn, just something that gets you excited - trust me - he’ll get excited simply by you being excited. Go out and buy some hot lingerie - together What could be more exciting than shopping for hot lingerie together? By the time you’re done, you’ll be well in the mood for a hot sex date. How about going to an adult toy store - together? Maybe go visit an adult toy store together. Even if you don’t buy anything, you’re sure to have a lot of fun checking out all the merchandise. Mix it up with some new sexual adventures Doing the same old thing over and over again is bound to get boring. You wouldn’t watch the same TV show for the rest of your life, would you? Try something different. Whether you’re up for a threesome or interested in the wild latex world of BDSM, the same idea applies. Be open to new experiences. Venture out and keep it exciting. In summary Talk with your partner about sex. Really, make a date to sit down and go over it. Then resolve to always talk about it form then on. Check your ego at the door. If your partner makes sex suggestions and you get defensive, then you’re missing the point completely. Get over it and put your partner first. You’ll be glad you did. Don’t strive to get “comfortable” in a relationship. If you’re there, break out of it before you doom your relationship for good. Bring the excitement of seduction and the chase back into your relationship - fast. Actually schedule some hot sex dates with your partner. Really. Keep it exciting with some new sexual adventures.
